CANALI DISTRIBUTIVI

Come leggere ogni voce

Wholesale Buyer Vertical / Private Label Marketplace Platform Hybrid Buyer + Private Label
01

Grandi Magazzini

Europa

El Corte Inglés

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Harrods, Selfridges, Liberty

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

KaDeWe

Wholesale Buyer

Closer to Bergdorf Goodman than to a mass department store — buying is highly selective, private label presence is minimal.

La Rinascente

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

NK (Stockholm) buys premium/luxury wholesale with a small curated floor; Åhléns runs mass-market private label alongside wholesale mid-tier brands.

Nord America

Holt Renfrew

Wholesale Buyer

Canada's closest equivalent to Bergdorf Goodman — selective wholesale buying, minimal private label.

Nordstrom

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

One of the most developed hybrid models in the US — dozens of in-house private label brands sit alongside wholesale designer stock, with private label used specifically to fill price gaps wholesale brands don't cover.

Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus

Wholesale Buyer

Sud America

Daslu, Iguatemi

Wholesale Buyer

São Paulo's luxury retail hub — buying offices work directly with European and North American brands' export/wholesale divisions, often the first point of entry for a Made in Italy brand into the Brazilian market.

Falabella, Ripley

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Private label makes up the majority of assortment — functionally closer to a vertical retailer than a classic department store; wholesale brands occupy a smaller curated section.

Liverpool

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Mexico's largest department store chain, wholesale buying office structured regionally, growing private label share in basics and accessories.

Asia Orientale

Isetan, Mitsukoshi, Takashimaya

Wholesale Buyer

Known for some of the most rigorous buyer vetting in the industry — a brand typically needs an established line sheet history and export track record before a buying appointment is even considered.

Lane Crawford

Wholesale Buyer

A key gateway buyer for the wider Asia-Pacific region — many European brands' first Asian wholesale account.

Shinsegae, Lotte

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Strong in-house private label division alongside wholesale luxury floors — Korean department stores were early adopters of the hybrid model now spreading globally.

SKP, Joyce Beijing

Wholesale Buyer

SKP is one of the highest-grossing single luxury retail locations globally; buying is centralized and relationship-driven, often requiring a local agent rather than direct brand-to-buyer contact.

Sud-Est Asiatico

Central, Siam Paragon

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Central Group runs both wholesale luxury floors and a large private label division across its retail network.

Lotte, Sogo (Singapore)

Wholesale Buyer

Singapore functions as a regional buying hub — brands often enter Southeast Asia through a Singapore account before expanding to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia.

SM, Rustan's

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

SM Group's scale makes it one of the largest wholesale buyers in Southeast Asia by volume; Rustan's stays closer to the curated luxury wholesale model.

Asia Meridionale

The Collective, Kapoor Watch Co.

Wholesale Buyer

India's international-brand wholesale entry points remain concentrated in a handful of curated multi-brand buyers rather than the department-store model common elsewhere — a structural difference worth flagging for brands assuming a Western retail structure.

Medio Oriente

Level Shoes, Bloomingdale's Dubai

Wholesale Buyer

Dubai buying offices often serve the wider Gulf region from a single account — one wholesale relationship can cover several markets.

Africa

Woolworths

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Unlike most hybrids, Woolworths runs private label across nearly its entire apparel offer — wholesale third-party brands are the exception, not the rule, making it functionally closer to a vertical retailer.

Oceania

David Jones, Myer

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Standard hybrid structure, wholesale international brands on premium floors, private label basics filling lower price tiers.

Smith & Caughey's

Wholesale Buyer

New Zealand's remaining independent department store, small selective wholesale buying office.

Russia / CSI

TSUM, GUM (Moscow)

Wholesale Buyer

Historically luxury-weighted wholesale buying.

02

Concept Store & Boutique Multimarca Indipendenti

Europa

10 Corso Como

Wholesale Buyer

One of the original concept-store formats — buying is built around a curated cross-category mix (fashion, design, books, art), often via exclusive capsule agreements rather than standard seasonal wholesale orders.

L'Eclaireur

Wholesale Buyer

Known for architectural, experiential retail spaces and a buying philosophy built around discovering under-the-radar designers before they scale — small opening orders, relationship-based reordering.

Machine-A

Wholesale Buyer

A recognized launchpad account for emerging designers — small initial MOQ-friendly orders, often a brand's first wholesale placement before scaling to larger department stores.

Nord America

Frankie Shop

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Started as a curated wholesale boutique, has since built a substantial in-house label that now sits alongside — and in volume often exceeds — the third-party wholesale brands it stocks.

H. Lorenzo

Wholesale Buyer

A West Coast reference account for European avant-garde and directional brands — buying skews toward design-forward pieces less common in mainstream US department stores.

Sud America

Otoño

Wholesale Buyer

One of Brazil's reference concept stores for international designer wholesale, small curated orders, often the first South American account for a growing European brand.

Asia Orientale

Beams, United Arrows

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Both run extensive wholesale buying alongside frequent designer collaboration capsules — a middle model between pure curation and private label, where the 'private' line is co-branded rather than fully in-house.

Joyce

Wholesale Buyer

A long-standing gateway account for European luxury and contemporary brands entering the Hong Kong/China market, historically influential in shaping which Western designers gained traction in Asia.

Medio Oriente

The Modist

Wholesale Buyer

Africa

Corner Luxe

Wholesale Buyer

Part of a small but growing set of African luxury multi-brand accounts — buying volumes are smaller than European/Asian equivalents, but represents an emerging entry point structurally similar to any other regional concept store.

Globale — Nessuna Regione Fissa

Dover Street Market

Wholesale Buyer

A single concept operated across six cities (London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angeles, Beijing) under Comme des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo — buying decisions are centralized, and getting a wholesale account here functions closer to an editorial selection process than a standard line sheet order.

03

Grandi Catene Globali — Volumi, Non Concept

Europa

C&A

Vertical / Private Label

Strong historical base in Germany and South America (particularly Brazil), private label across the full assortment — one of the older vertically integrated European chains, predating the fast-fashion label itself.

Primark

Vertical / Private Label

Extreme volume/low-margin-per-unit model — private label only, no e-commerce wholesale-style operation in most markets historically, which shapes its buying/production cadence differently from omnichannel peers.

Sud America

Falabella (private label division)

Vertical / Private Label

Where Falabella's department store floor buys some wholesale brands, its private label division operates as a fully separate vertical operation — same holding company, two different distribution models under one roof.

Oceania

Cotton On

Vertical / Private Label

Australia's clearest vertical fast-fashion case — in-house design and sourcing, direct-to-store, no external buyer relationship for a brand to pursue.

Globale — Nessuna Regione Fissa

H&M Group

Vertical / Private Label

In-house design teams work against forecasted trend cycles rather than buyer orders — no external line sheet process exists because there's no external buyer to sell to; the entire chain from design brief to store delivery is internal.

Uniqlo

Vertical / Private Label

Distinct from fast-fashion peers — built around a smaller number of core, technically engineered styles (e.g. Heattech, Airism) refined over years rather than replaced seasonally. Strongest across Asia, expanding globally.

Zara, Massimo Dutti (Inditex)

Vertical / Private Label

Fully vertically integrated design-to-store cycle, famous for compressing it to 2–4 weeks in some categories — the reference case for vertical retail at global scale. Present in over 200 markets.

04

E-Commerce Multibrand di Lusso/Premium

Europa

24S (LVMH)

Wholesale Buyer

Operated within LVMH's ecosystem, buying skews toward LVMH-adjacent and complementary luxury brands, though it remains open to external wholesale accounts.

LuisaViaRoma

Wholesale Buyer

Italy's clearest example of a physical boutique (Florence) that scaled into a global wholesale-buying e-commerce operation — still runs the original store alongside the online buying office, useful reference for a Made in Italy brand thinking about digital wholesale routes close to home.

Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa

Wholesale Buyer

Functions like a digital-first luxury department store — buying teams place seasonal purchase orders exactly like a physical account, then hold and ship inventory themselves. Editorial content (styling, 'the edit') is used to drive sell-through on stock they already own.

Yoox

Wholesale Buyer

Distinct model within this group — buys end-of-season and archive stock at a discount rather than current-season full-price wholesale, a different sell-in negotiation entirely (clearance terms, not seasonal order terms).

Nord America

SSENSE

Wholesale Buyer

Known for a distinct contemporary/streetwear-adjacent buying point of view compared to the more classic-luxury bias of Net-a-Porter — buying decisions are curatorially driven, not just brand-prestige driven.

Sud America

Reversible / Dafiti

Marketplace Platform

Same commission-based aggregator logic as Farfetch, applied to the South American market — relevant for brands who already have a wholesale account with a regional boutique and want that boutique's stock to reach a wider digital audience.

Medio Oriente

Ounass

Wholesale Buyer

Regional luxury e-commerce buyer serving the Gulf specifically — buying decisions account for regional sizing/modesty preferences alongside standard wholesale criteria.

Oceania

Cettire

Wholesale Buyer

Publicly listed, notable as one of the few major luxury e-commerce wholesale buyers based in Oceania rather than Europe/North America — a real gateway account for reaching the Australian/NZ luxury market directly.

Globale — Nessuna Regione Fissa

Farfetch

Marketplace Platform

Does not buy or hold inventory. Instead, it aggregates hundreds of independent boutiques worldwide onto one platform, taking a commission per sale. A brand's actual customer is the boutique that stocked it — Farfetch is the storefront, not the buyer. Distinct from every wholesale account above: there's no purchase order with Farfetch itself.

05

E-Commerce di Volume / Catene Online Globali

Europa

ASOS

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Runs both a wholesale marketplace section (third-party brands sold on consignment/wholesale terms) and an extensive in-house private label division that now represents a majority of its revenue — one of the clearest hybrid digital retailers.

Zalando

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

The most structurally complex entry on this page. Zalando operates (1) a traditional wholesale-buying business for many brands, (2) a marketplace layer (Partner Program) where brands sell directly on consignment-style terms, and (3) its own private label lines — plus a fulfillment service brands can use independently of selling through Zalando at all.

Sud America

Mercado Libre

Marketplace Platform

The dominant general marketplace across most of Latin America — fashion is one category among many, closer in structure to Amazon than to a fashion-specific platform; relevant mainly for brands prioritizing broad Latin American digital reach over curated positioning.

Asia Orientale

Tmall Luxury Pavilion, JD

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

Critical distinction from Western platforms: entry is typically negotiated through direct partnership with the platform itself (or via an authorized agent/distributor already operating in China), not a self-service application or standard wholesale showroom order. Brand protection, localization, and payment infrastructure are handled through the platform relationship rather than a standard purchase order process.

Asia Meridionale

Myntra

Hybrid Buyer + Private Label

India's largest fashion e-commerce platform, runs both wholesale-bought third-party brands and a significant private label portfolio — the primary digital gateway for a Western brand entering the Indian market before considering a physical account like those in Category 1.

Globale — Nessuna Regione Fissa

Amazon Fashion

Marketplace Platform

The purest large-scale case of the marketplace model — Amazon does not buy or curate in the traditional sense; third-party sellers list directly, Amazon takes a commission/fee structure and handles logistics (often via Fulfillment by Amazon). No buyer relationship to negotiate in the traditional sell-in sense.

Shein, Temu

Vertical / Private Label
